Description
For a long time, Liverpools' waterfront has been renowned for the architecture of 'the 3 graces' lining along the River Mersey (the building on the left being one of them). It has world heritage status, which has been under threat by the addition of very many modern structures in recent years during rejuvination of the city center. The modern building on the right, is the brand new Museum of Liverpool, it has a matching building holding the ferry terminal and Beatles story right behind where I was standing. There are several others as well. My opinion, I like good modern buildings and sometimes they mix well with classic buildings, but I think these ones draw too much on 60's and 70's structures! They look nice enough lit up at night anyway, but reckon the new museum looks a bit like an airport terminal. I guess I prefer modern buildings that take more from art deco or 'space age' qualities.
